They’ll break your heart

That’s what my uncle told me in 1983 when I informed him I was a Cub’s fan. This was easily the best Cubs team I’ve ever seen, they were the best team in the league. They then proceeded to give the worst possible performance I have ever seen in the post-season. It’s one thing to lose, it’s quite another to never show up. I know that in the grand scheme of things, this isn’t a big deal, but it still sucks. I’m not thinking of next year, It’s hockey season now. Hopefully my Caps will take my mind off of this…

I hope you are right. However, as a fan since the Mike Gartner/Rod Langway/Al Jensen days in the Patrick Division, I am unfortunately compelled to remind you that if you are looking for post-season disappointment, you usually need look no further than the Washington Capitals.

Rest assured though, as I soon head for the Great North, that there will be one family’s worth of Caps fans adrift in the Bruins sea.

I know, what the hell is wrong with me? The Caps and Cubs would seem to point to some serious issues in my psyche. Come to think of it, I love Charlie Brown too…

My first Caps game was back in 1981 I believe. The played the Colorado Rockies…

You going to be around this week?
