Went to the supermarket and while I was there I heard Barber’s “Adagio for Strings” over the music system… Not exactly great shopping music. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the piece, think of the climatic death scene at the end of “Platoon:. Beautiful music, but not what I expect in a supermarket. On the way home, I swear I saw Rosana Dan Danna from SNL. In Yemen of all places…
Yemen does have some wonderful grapes. I saw a bunch and I had to have them, they’re beautiful and they are perhaps the best tasting grapes I’ve ever had. I’ll post pictures later on, they really are that amazing…

Barber…
I know that piece. I imagine it gave all your shopping choices an added weight of meaning… or conversely, it made you want to throw that bag of flour high into the air and then watch as it fell to the floor in slow motion sending billowing clouds of pulverized wheat up and down the isle and leaving the canned goods looking as pristine and perfect as grain elevators after a white-out in the mid west.

Re: Barber…
LOL! That’s perfect. Actually, all I thought was what a crappy version they had. I might try the flour thing next time I go there, sounds nice:-)
