Some links to my favorite sites.

Forksplit
An anonymous blog by a bitter, at times sad woman who is unquestionably a great writer. She can be hilarious, depressing, and insightful, sometimes all at the same time. Make sure you look into her archives. Some of my favorite posts of her's include "Boys don't cry" and "Kill your Idols." Warning, she is extremely frank about sex, drugs, and coping with emotional scarring, not for the easily offended.

Economics and Religion.
This is run by a former professor of mine Larry Ianaconne. He is the one that opened my eyes to huge potential that economics has for analyzing more than just money. Check out his papers, they are very readable.

Realmac Software.
I used their Rapidweaver software to create this site. One more reason to use a Mac...

Apple Computer.
The best there is. They have quality hardware, a rock solid and secure OS, and amazing software. This is the computer company you should be using.

Folding at home team Mac OS X.
Use the unused cycles of your computer to help Stanford U. figure out diseases caused by improperly folded proteins. They are working on things like Alzheimer's and Mad Cow Disease. It's a great cause, put your computer to work when you're not using it! When you download the folding client, put team 1971 in the team box, join the fastest growing team out there!

DR5
This is the Black and White reversal processing that I used for a lot of the pictures in my gallery. You have to see these slides to really understand how beautiful they are. Sharp sharp sharp and an incredible tonal scale.

The Tube Cad Journal
This man knows more about tube circuits than anyone I can think of. His little articles are mind blowing in their (relative) simplicity and beauty. If you ever wanted to really know what's going on inside your amp, this is the place to check out.

Cowboy Chronicles by Danny Guthrie
Danny was the head of the photo department at Ithaca College during my formative years as a photographer. This is his story about moving to Tokyo. Tall Texan that likes loud shirts meets conservative Japanese in-laws. Hilarity ensues. A good read from the most influential teacher in my life.

Audio Mirror
This is the company that made my kick ass amps. They offer single ended amps that drive real world speakers, using cheap tubes, and outstanding sound. They look good too! I've been very happy with my monoblocks.

APUG.ORG
The Analog Photographer's User's Group. They are a bit paranoid and fearful of digital photography, but this is a great place to get info on all things pertaining to analog photography. It's also a great place to buy and sell photo equipment.

Baseball Think Factory
A thinking man's approach to baseball. Heavy on statistical methods of evaluating performance and down on "intangibles". Bring up Derek Jeter's name in the forums at your own risk!

The Audio Asylum
Here the inmates run the asylum! A great resource of opinionated reviews of equipment and discussions about anything audio. The search function is invaluable in finding opinions of obscure pieces of equipment and/or tubes.

Phase Technology
My favorite bang for the buck speaker line. I've owned 3 different pairs of speakers from this company, all of them sounded great and were easy to drive. Highly recommended for cheap speakers that low powered tube amps can drive.

Antique Electronic Supply
The place for buying anything related to tubes. They have an enormous quantity of tubes in stock and all the accessories and fiddly things necessary to make them work. Great prices too!

Clay Enos Photography
Clay was a senior at Ithaca college when I was an incoming freshman. I'm sure he doesn't remember me, but he had quite an impact on me. He has done pretty well for himself, shoots all sorts of celebrities and does some amazing nightlife photos. My favorite memory is a picture of him grinning like a maniac while being put into a cop car. I'll let Clay tell that story...

isaac

funny story...

i had bought the knife in honduras, actually handed the knife to the cops when i saw the metal detector and got arrested anyway. it was the capital building, not the white house. when i asked the cops what my charge was he said, "PPWD."
I asked again, "what does that mean?"
He said, " I don't know"
I said, "Possession of a Pointy Weapon in a Dome"
He laughed and said, "Personal Possession of a Weadly Deapon"

That's how we left it.

As for the photo, i remember telling my friend anna to open up to ƒ8 because i knew i'd been in the full sun and now i was being brought to the cop car in the shade. she didn't understand me and the photo is about 2 stops underexposed.

so glad you remembered that one.

He spent a night in jail for that oops.

The Twine Tour.
Two of the funnier guys I know (David Melito and John Dicker) went on a trip to find the most, um, interesting sites they could in this fine land of ours. Lots of smashed pennies, gay cars, and fainting sheep makes for an interesting trip. There's lots to read, go back often to take it all in.

CALES
The Center for Arabic Language and Eastern Studies. This is the school I am currently in. Good teachers and a GREAT immersion experience. One hell of a deal as well...

Kenneth Cleaver, Consumer Corespondent.
The Alter ego of John Dicker, professional smart ass and consumer culture commentator. He really is funny, check out the letters he writes and the responses he gets. He also has a new book out, "The United States of Wal Mart". Buy it.

Cheap Stingy Bastard.com
Ok, they have officially changed their name to cheap stingy bargains, but I like the original title better. They have lots of downloadable coupons and specials advertised there. This is where I got the great deal on my monitor. Lots of categories, lots of fun.

Bottlehead Audio
If you want real high end audio equipment, but you don't want to spend a zillion dollars getting it, build it yourself! These guys have the easiest to build kits, and just about everyone agrees that they sound fantastic too. Amps, preamps, speakers, they have lots of stuff to build.

Basenotes.net
This is the place to look if you are interested in perfumes, colognes, etc. There is a very active discussion board and a very comprehensive review section. These people are true scent connoisseurs, and they take it very seriously.
