Big Finish Productions.
This is the site that fuels my Dr. Who obsession. They make audio plays that I think are actually better than the TV show overall. If you like Dr. Who, you owe it to yourself to experience their stuff.
The Mises Institute
Ludwig Van Mises was perhaps one of the most important and influential economists of the 20th century. He came to be seen as the head of and sometimes as the founder of the "Austrian" school of economics. He championed human action as the basis of all economics and eschewed the more mathematical model building schools of thought. Although not as popular as more mainstream economic schools of thought, the Austrians have a habit of being right more than they are wrong. The Mises institute is the premiere place to learn about economics in the Austrian vein. Emphasizing individual liberty, hard money, and the role that time plays in the creation of capital, the Mises institute is a wealth of information. Want to know what's going on in the world? Check them out.
The Libertarian Party.
Do you think of yourself as socially liberal and fiscally conservative? Do you see economic rights and civil rights as being the same thing? Then you might be a Libertarian. The Libertarian Party is for gay rights, free speech, limited government, individual liberty, free markets, and fully supports all 10 amendments in the bill of rights. Along with that they are against war, corporate welfare, and anything that smells of being nannied. It's the only party I can support with a clean conscience.
Kiva.
Many people think of Kiva as a charity. I think of it slightly differently. Kiva is a gateway to the world of microfinance across the world. You are able to loan people money so that they can improve their business and/or life. They pay it back and then you can either take the money back, or re-loan it to other people. I like it because the money is being put to good use and it keeps coming back. I can keep using the same money over and over, helping people over and over.
Squeezebox by Logitech.
I now listen to almost all of my music through my Squeezebox touch. What is that? It is a networked music player that can stream audio from your computer, a server, or directly from the internet. It sounds fantastic and is a lot of fun. In addition to all of my music, I take advantage of music streams from Slacker radio and LastFM. It has transformed my listening habits.
Rapidweaver
Rapidweaver is the program I used to make this site. It's a great program for folks that want to make a nice looking website but don't want to spend a ton of time learning the intricacies of HTML. It's a Mac only program and you can get it in the Mac app store.
